Khan Academy: Hour of Code

Coding is hot a topic right now. In industry, coders are in high demand because they can transform digital ideas into a reality. In education coding is getting a lot of fuel. For example, in Massachusetts there is a serious group of educators (EDC, MBAE) and industry (Google) folk pushing for computer science to be a standalone curriculum in the state.

A while back, I wrote about Scratch as a great introductory coding resource for kids. Recently a new resource popped up from a well known provider-Khan Academy. Yup, that's right, Sal Khan has put some time and money into the power of coding; he has teamed up with well known figures (e.g. Mark Zuckerburg) and created a series of educational videos to prime your coding skills.
