Been on a bird biomimicry bender and have discovered some cool resources on flight innovation.
One awesome resource is on Airbus' website. They have a great article that illustrates the ways bird structures and functions have inspired their company's innovation. Not sure how the V formation scenario would work out for safety reasons but I dig the fuel savings. In the classroom, this is a great resource to stick in a physical science, biology, or technology/engineering unit focused on flight. The parallels between bird and human flight are rich and exciting.
